July 3rd – Rumble On The River
Rumble on the River is a long-standing Fourth of July celebration held annually on July 3rd at Lake Harding. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and stunning fireworks display, the event draws hundreds of boats and spectators each year!
The Rumble on the River has become a cherished tradition for those who live on or near Lake Harding. It’s a grassroots celebration of Independence Day that reflects the lake community’s spirit and love for the outdoors.

Rumble on the River is supported by local residents and businesses, who contribute to the fireworks fund and help keep the tradition alive.
Fireworks
The fireworks display is the highlight of the evening and usually begins at 9:30pm ET. It lasts about 20–25 minutes and is visible from boats on the water and from select shoreline spots. The show is professionally choreographed and includes a wide range of effects and patriotic themes.

Boating Culture
Boaters begin arriving early in the afternoon to anchor and socialize. The event has become known for its festive on-the-water atmosphere, with decorated boats, music, and patriotic displays. Shoreline Viewing
While the event is best experienced from the water, some areas along the shoreline offer decent views of the fireworks. Local residents often host private gatherings, and a few public access points near the bridge may provide limited viewing areas.

- Life jackets and lights are recommended for all boats.
- Swimming is discouraged during and after the show due to heavy boat traffic.
- Noise should be kept to respectful levels, and trash should be packed out to keep the lake clean.
